The First State Pharmacy on Foulk Rd was robbed at gunpoint around 6pm yesterday. The suspect wanted prescription drugs and fortunately didn’t shoot anyone after he got his “fix”. I’m very glad Chas McCormick and his staff were uninjured – they run a great business.
This could most likely be the same person who has been going through vehicles parked in Chatham and South Graylyn Crest over the past couple weeks.
Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove/hide any valuables (cash, GPS units, phones, tools, garage door openers, etc). These people are looking for easy targets (unlocked doors) but will also smash your window if they see something “good” sitting on your car seat (happened in SGC over the weekend).
Also lock your home’s doors/windows and turn on as many exterior lights as you can. Many of our streets are very dark at night and these crooks will move on if they know they might be seen. One reported scenario in South Graylyn Crest is a car followed by two people on foot checking for unlocked vehicles – between 3am and 5am.
If you see any suspicious activity please take note of the type of vehicle and/or tag number if you can. Call 911 if you witness it occurring. Call the non-emergency number at 573-2800 if you discover it later. NCCPD now uses a predictive policing system – they will schedule more patrols in areas where they receive more calls. We need to let them know what is going on so they can catch the bad guys.
Please remain safe and vigilant,
